Job summary

Analog Devices, Inc. seeks a Senior Test Engineer for tactile sensing to drive characterization, qualification, and failure analysis of next-gen tactile sensors.

You will own test workflows from prototype to validation, working hands-on with microelectronic fabrication, electrical bench equipment, and failure analysis tools while partnering with robotics teams to meet humanoid-hand demands. Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with microelectronic device and sensor fabrication technologies.
  • Experience designing sensor characterization, testing, and qualification processes, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with common electrical benchtop measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, SMUs, and DAQs.
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis and test automation; experience with LabVIEW for instrument automation.

Responsibilities

  • Design sensor characterization, testing, and qualification processes and plans for tactile sensors and devices.
  • Conduct thorough sensor characterization, perform data analysis, and report findings and recommendations to the team.
  • Conduct failure analysis on sensors and devices using techniques such as SEM, FIB, and EDS.
  • Drive the definition, writing, and completion of sensor specifications and datasheets.
  • Write programs in Python and LabVIEW to automate sensor characterization and test workflows.
  • Perform data analysis in Python to extract insights from characterization, qualification, and FA data.
  • Use basic CAD design and 3D printers to build test fixtures and prototype hardware.
  • Perform common electrical benchtop measurements to support device bring-up, debug, and characterization.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, fabrication, and AI/robotics teams to translate sensor and system requirements into test plans, specs, and datasheets.

  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis and test automation; experience with LabVIEW for instrument automation.
  • Working knowledge of basic CAD design and prototyping tools, including 3D printers.
  • Detail‑driven, hardworking, and comfortable working hands‑on in a fast‑paced lab environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience handling devices with flexible substrates (e.g., polyimide).
  • Hands‑on experience with failure analysis techniques such as SEM, FIB, and EDS.
  • Experience driving the definition and authoring of sensor specifications and datasheets.
  • Background in tactile, force, or pressure sensing technologies.

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $144,000 to $198,000.

  • Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.
  • This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
