GliaCell Technologies in Annapolis Junction, MD, seeks a Senior Test Engineer to support a U.S. Government customer. The role focuses on delivering reliable, scalable test infrastructure and ensuring mission-critical software and systems meet security and compliance requirements.

You will work in a SCIF with limited remote work, develop IaC, manage CI/CD, oversee AWS-driven environments, and mentor junior engineers as part of a collaborative, mission-focused team.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance is required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 9+ years of professional experience, or 7+ years with a related Master’s.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Independent and team-oriented with strong communication.
• Experience: Infrastructure as Code, AWS, Python, Ansible, Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Develop Infrastructure as Code and scripting to automate tasks, provision services, and build tools.
• Patch, harden, and maintain compliance of RHEL.
• Install, configure, and tune Kubernetes, Docker Compose, Nifi, and cloud logging/metrics collection tools.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines with GitLab runners and Argo CD.
• Manage AWS cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders.
• Limited to no work from home; work in a SCIF.

Job Description:

GliaCell is seeking a Senior Test Engineer on one of our subcontracts. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to support a U.S. Government customer. The mission is to provide technical expertise that assists in sustaining critical mission-related software and systems to a large government contract.

The Work:

• Provide a reliable, highly available platform that orchestrates the microservices of a modernized operational system utilizing cutting edge technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Developing Infrastructure As Code and scripting to automate tasks, provision managed services, and build tools. Popular programming languages for DevOps engineers include Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Experience patching, hardening, and maintaining compliance of RHEL
• Install, configure, and provide performance tuning utilizing: Kubernetes, Docker Compose, Nifi, and cloud native logging and metrics collection tools.
• Managing CI/CD pipelines to automate building, testing, and deploying code utilizing GitLab runners and Argo CD.
• Managing commercial cloud computing platforms (AWS).
• Communication and collaboration: DevOps is a team-oriented discipline. Engineers need to be able to communicate and collaborate effectively with other team members, as well as with stakeholders.
• The position allows little to no work from home and will require a significant portion or all work to be performed in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).

Key Requirements:

To be considered for this position you must have the following:

• Possess an active or rein-statable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
• 9 years or more of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Works well independently as well as on a team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Infrastructure as Code (IAS), strong AWS, Python, Ansible, Terraform

Desired Skills:

• Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure including but not limited to EC2, Lambdas, S3, SNS, SQS, Event Router, Athena, Step Functions using Terraform and auto scaling.
• Understanding of AWS networking principles to include VPCs, NATs, IP Gateway.
• Develop and manage Gitlab CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and ensure system uptime
• Kubernetes experience with a focus on EKS, ECS, and/or Fargate

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD

Salary Range: The salary range for this full-time position is $180,000 to $230,000. Our salary ranges are determined by position, level, skills, professional experience, relevant education and certifications. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for this position across our projects. Within the range, your salary is determined by your individual benefits package selection.
