Job summary

Axon is seeking a Senior Software Engineer focused on test automation to ensure quality, stability, and performance of VR training products across Unity, backend services, and web platforms. The role emphasizes scalable automation, CI/CD, and rapid releases.

You will join the VR team at Axon, contributing to test coverage across multiple surfaces, while collaborating with QA, software engineering, and product teams in a hybrid Seattle, WA environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development or test automation experience, preferably in immersive tech or simulation.
• Proficiency in C# with Unity-based testing experience.
• Proven success building automated tests and CI/CD for multi-surface systems (VR client, backend, web).
• Familiarity with test automation tools like Appium, Selenium, NUnit or Unity testing frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills for performance, interaction fidelity, and device-specific issues.
• Clear, collaborative communication with ownership and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement test automation frameworks for Unity VR apps, backend APIs, and web components.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and deployment.
• Collaborate with QA, software engineering, and product teams to expand test coverage (unit, integration, E2E, non-functional).
• Create and maintain test plans reflecting realistic training scenarios and performance benchmarks.
• Analyze automation results, investigate failures, and lead triage with cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to engineering best practices to improve test velocity, code quality, and deployment safety.
• Advocate for quality and faster test feedback throughout the SDLC.
