Job summary

Smith Johnson is seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer to join our CGI team on a contract basis. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for enterprise applications, collaborating with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, high‑quality solutions in cloud-native environments.

You will drive shift-left testing, participate in Agile ceremonies, and contribute to secure coding and testing best practices while supporting CI/CD

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software test automation engineering.
• Experience testing banking or financial services applications, including API integrations and interfaces.
• Experience testing applications deployed on public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of ETL, relational databases, SQL, and data analysis.
• Proven ability to design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade test automation frameworks.
• Experience with API testing and automation (REST/SOAP).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and automated deployment pipelines.
• Proficient in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Proficiency with Selenium, Playwright, Postman, Java, and/or Python.
• Experience with Git, Jira, Confluence, and containerized environments like Docker.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for enterprise applications.
• Collaborate with Product Management, stakeholders, and development teams to define testing strategies.
• Create and execute functional, end-to-end, integration, and regression tests.
• Drive shift-left testing by integrating automation early in the lifecycle.
• Evaluate and recommend new testing tools and automation solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and maintain automation documentation.
• Support CI/CD pipelines with automated quality validation.
• Stay current with emerging automation technologies and best practices.
