Job summary

Capgemini is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer in New York to shape and execute testing strategies for complex web applications and APIs. You will work across QA and software development, leveraging Selenium Serenity (Java) and Playwright, aligning with Agile Scrum practices to ensure high-quality releases.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of quality engineering experience with enterprise web apps and APIs.
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• Experience and/or knowledge of both QA Engineering and Software Development.
• Experience building test strategies and test plans with adequate test coverage.
• Selenium Serenity automation framework (Java-based) experience; Playwright preferred.
• Proficiency with coding standards, reviews, source control, build processes, OO design and development.
• Experience with Agile software development using Scrum.
• Familiar with GitHub Copilot or other AI tools to increase efficiency.
• SQL and NoSQL database experience.
• BDD experience or familiarity; Gherkin a plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD.
• Participate in understanding/refinement of User Stories, QA tasks, test cases, demos.
• Log defects/issues and work with team to ensure resolution.
• Participate in production release deployment verification.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills and team player.

Job Description:

Qualifications and Skills Required

• 5+ years of quality engineering experience with complex enterprise web applications and APIs, including analysis, design, development, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• Experience and/or knowledge of both QA Engineering and Software Development.
• Experience building test strategies and test plans, ensuring adequate test coverage for deliverables.
• Experience using a Selenium Serenity automation framework (Java-based) is required. Playwright experience is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with professional software development skills and practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, design patterns, Object-Oriented Design and Development, and software design principles.
• Experience with Agile software development methodology using Scrum.
• Experience with GitHub Copilot or other generative AI tools to increase efficiency and quality.
• SQL and NoSQL database experience.
• BDD experience or familiarity; Gherkin experience is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
• Participate in understanding and refinement of User Stories, QA-related tasks, test cases, functional automation, and product demos.
• Log defects/issues and work with team members to ensure resolution.
• Participate in production release deployment verification on a regular cadence.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively as a team player.

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is 72,000 to 87,991

Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.

The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
