Senior Territory Sales Manager, Bioprocessing - Western US

Solaris Biotechnology, a Donaldson company in the Life Science division designs and manufactures bioprocessing equipment such as bioreactors, fermenters, and tangential flow filtration (TFF) systems at bench, pilot and industrial scales. Solaris bioprocessing solutions are used in a variety of industries including universities, research centers, bio-pharma, alternative protein, nutraceutical, cosmeceutical, bio-chemical, bio-agriculture, bioplastics and biofuels.

The Senior Territory Sales Manager, Bioprocessing - Western US will be focused on maximizing sales and actively seeking to generate new business according to set targets. Under direction from the Americas Sales Leader, the TSM will work closely with Field Applications Specialists, Inside Sales and other key areas of the business such as Project Managers, Sales Support and the After-Sales teams.

This role is best suited for someone with a strong track record of generating new business and actively managing large projects in a matrix setting. This role will be responsible for states west of the Mississippi River. This is a remote position. Ideal locations include San Francisco, CA, Los Angeles, CA or San Diego, CA, but the role is open to anyone in the Western US with the proper experience.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead sales within the region with drive, energy, and urgency to identify, create and maximize opportunities.
  • Active use of CRM for prospecting, new lead generation, Opportunity and Pipeline management and KPI tracking within target markets.
  • Provide accurate and timely pipeline, forecast and monthly reporting to include customer and competitor feedback.
  • Ensure product and market knowledge is continually up to date.
  • Take responsibility for responding to operational situations to ensure best results and clear communication internally and with clients.
  • Preparing and delivering on territory sales and marketing strategies.
  • Travelling to customer sites within the assigned territory when required.
  • Clearly explaining company products, services and value propositions.
  • Creating brand awareness within the assigned territory.
  • Maintaining a healthy pre and post sales relationship with customers.

TRAVEL: Up to 50%

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or at least 7+ years of technical sales experience.
  • 5+ years of technical sales experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with bioprocessing equipment.
  • Engineering degree would be beneficial.
  • Previous Life Sciences experience would be highly preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer-oriented with a focus on problem-solving.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work in both a team environment or individually as required.

Annual Salary Range: $93,800 - $122,000.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to applicable work experience, training, education, performance. Based on work location, geographic adjustment is included.

This position is eligible for sales incentive or commission plan, based on sales targets under company policy.
