The Opportunity

The Senior Teller assists with branch activities, including customer service and transaction processing. The role involves providing exceptional service, maintaining knowledge of bank products and fees, and handling a full range of retail and commercial transactions. The incumbent may have modest approval limits and must exercise good judgment and guidance to others. All duties are performed in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  1. Process transactions accurately and efficiently (deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, ATM, night drop).
  2. Identify opportunities to refer products and services based on customer needs.
  3. Answer questions and resolve customer concerns regarding bank services.
  4. Reconcile GL debits and credits for the location over a period.
  5. Vault and ATM balancing.
  6. Wire processing.
  7. Hold/Stop payments.
  8. Monthly certifications.
  9. Conduct account research.
  10. Review daily reports assigned by Branch Management.
  11. Assist with new account processing.
  12. Adhere to policies, controls, and regulatory procedures to ensure asset security.
  13. Assist with processing and scanning teller work.
  14. Audit peer transactions.
  15. Contribute to branch goals.
  16. Support training and onboarding of new team members.
  17. Maintain respectful, ethical interactions and uphold organizational values.
  18. Promote diversity and a harassment-free environment.
  19. Follow policies and complete tasks accurately and timely.
  20. Perform duties safely and report unsafe conditions.
  21. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in Bank Secrecy Act compliance and banking skills; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • 3+ years retail banking experience.
  • Intermediate math skills.
  • Knowledge of deposit, lending, and credit products.
  • Strong relationship-building, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately, maintain confidentiality, and adapt to change.
  • Effective verbal communication skills, including on the phone.
