SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Senior Telecommunications Technician with a minimum of 3 years of experience for a 1-year contract with possible extensions. In this role the ideal candidate will respond to system and service outages as well as storm/disaster support. This role requires on-site in the office in Cayce and traveling locally up to 75% of the time.

Required Qualifications of the Senior Telecommunications Technician:

• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
• Associate degree and 3 years of related work experience or military experience with 5 years of related experience may be accepted.
• Experience with SolarWinds – NPM and NCM
• Experience with Nokia and Ciena transport equipment
• Commissioning and troubleshooting DWDM systems
• May require some travel with overnight stays and additional hours, holiday, and/or weekend work for project completion or to meet deadlines - will be based on project needs.
• Working knowledge of fiber circuits, MPLS and other LAN/WAN data circuits
• Skilled in the termination and troubleshooting of various cabling types to include fiber, knowledge of fiber terminations, data circuits, 48V and 135Vdc power plants.
• Experience with DC plant systems, LAN and wireless testing, fiber optic test equipment, and various cabling types.
• Familiarity with cable identification, terminating cables, and Channel Banks.
• Must have your own vehicle since you will be utilizing it for this role and will be reimbursed for mileage.

Responsibilities of the Senior Telecommunications Technician:

• Maintain accurate records of installations, configurations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Ensure all work complies with telecommunications regulations and standards.
• Provide technical support and guidance to users, often involving customer service during field visits.
• Installing and wiring routers/switches, coordinating for configuration and troubleshooting.
• Install and provision of transport equipment and ethernet services supporting MPLS network
• Electrical/Electronic background and SCADA knowledge are a plus.
• Testing, deployment, and documentation supporting system upgrades, patches, and maintenance window activities.
• Respond to system and service outages as well as storm/disaster support
• Participate in maintenance window cutovers and system grooms
• Installation and wiring of routers/switches along with coordination with multiple groups for configuration and troubleshooting.
• Effectively identify and utilizes the proper resources to develop solutions and devise new approaches to problems encountered in work assignments.

Work Location: On-site in Cayce, SC then traveling locally up to 75% of the time.
