Responsibilities

• Support at the Pentagon is limited to Video Teleconference (VTC) coordination and execution using DISA J6 provided end user devices and teleconference room systems.
• Research, develop, design, and evaluate communications systems and equipment.
• Study communications systems and equipment, such as present and projected volume of communications, effectiveness and adequacy of system, and estimated equipment costs.
• Perform engineering studies to obtain data on new equipment and systems developments in the communications field and adaptability of equipment to existing systems.
• Analyze reports, records, and recommendations to determine whether equipment should be repaired or replaced, additional equipment installed, or newly developed equipment acquired, considering factors like predicted traffic volume, costs, efficiency improvements, and operational changes.
• Prepare recommendations for acquisition of new, additional, or replacement equipment based on analyses for management's approval.
• Prepare equipment specifications and floor plans for installation in offices or departments.
• Contact vendors to arrange bids for lease or purchase of equipment.
• Approve acquisition and installation of equipment within management-approved limitations.
• Coordinate equipment installation and maintenance activities to avoid disruptions and ensure operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Ten (10) years of prior experience in a similar role
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• IAT or IAM Level I certification
• Active Security Clearance
