Job summary

Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. is hiring a Communications Field Engineer to design, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain telecom infrastructure across the service area.

The role focuses on optical fiber, microwave, and RF systems to ensure resilient, compliant networks supporting mission-critical operations. You will lead infrastructure projects, collaborate with IT and vendors, and manage incidents, capacity planning, and lifecycle upgrades.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years IT/Telecommunications Design and Operations.
• Associate's Degree and a minimum of 4 years Telecommunications.
• High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 5 years IT/Telecommunications Operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer optical fiber, microwave, and RF communication systems.
• Manage operation, reliability, and performance of fiber, microwave, and RF systems including UPS and cooling.
• Oversee vendors to ensure SLAs, KPIs, and contract standards are met.
• Develop governance, metrics, and reporting for operations and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with engineering, IT, vendors, and stakeholders for new builds and retrofits.
