Job summary

The City of Alexandria is seeking a Part-Time Recreation Leader III – Teens at the Patrick Henry Recreation Center within the Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities (RPCA). This role focuses on planning and delivering teen programs and events in the community, while upholding safety and inclusivity.

Ideal candidates bring a High School Diploma, at least 3 years of related experience, and First Aid training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and three (3) years of related experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• First Aid training.
• Experience with teen program planning, youth mentorship, or behavior management

Responsibilities

• Leads recreational, cultural, sports activities, and provides instruction to participants concerning activity/game methods and guidelines
• Prepares for recreational activities program plans
• Sets up equipment, controls crowd, stores equipment
• Maintains participant attendance and registration records
• Communicates activity status and issues encountered to higher level staff
