Job summary

Latham & Watkins seeks a Senior Technology Trainer in its Washington, DC office to deliver high-level tech training to lawyers and staff both in-person and remotely. You will design classes, analyze training needs, and support firm-approved applications across delivery methods, including classroom, one-on-one, video, and eLearning.

• Identify training needs with attorneys and staff and design classes to promote learning and effective use of technology
• Conduct training needs analysis and develop innovative programs to meet those needs and promote technology adoption
• Build comprehensive knowledge of workflow, applications and practices of lawyers and staff to support consultative training
• Evaluate and customize training for new hire onboarding, technology rollout training, or ongoing education initiatives
• Contribute ideas for service improvement including new courses, delivery, and learning methods
• Protect and maintain highly sensitive, confidential information handled by the firm

About The Role

The Senior Technology Trainer is an integral part of Latham’s Technology & Information Services team. This role will be responsible for providing a variety of professional, high-level technology training services to the lawyers and staff of the firm through in-person and remote training delivery, while providing assistance to end users for firm-approved applications in a variety of different methods (e.g., classroom, one-on-one, video, online eLearning systems, and remote virtual learning). This role will be located in our Washington DC office.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Working with attorneys and business services team members in the office and across other locations to identify training needs, creating classes designed to promote learning and the most effective use of technology
• Conducting training needs analysis and supporting the development of innovative programs to meet those needs and promote the use of technology to improve individual and team performance
• Building a comprehensive knowledge of the workflow, applications and practices of lawyers and other employees to support the delivery of consultative training
• Evaluating and customizing training in order to meet the specific needs for new hire and onboarding training, technology rollout training, or ongoing education initiatives
• Actively contributing ideas for service improvement including new courses, delivery, and learning methods using a continuous improvement framework
• Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

We’d love to hear from you if you:

• Possess the knowledge and understanding of the work practices and workflow of lawyers and other employees as it pertains to training for the adoption of technology
• Display the ability to be flexible in approach and delivery, with the ability to translate business training requirements into successful training implementations with demonstrable and measurable results
• Exhibit well-developed and professional interpersonal skills; with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm

And have:

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent; a minimum of five (5) years of related job experience considered in lieu of a degree
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in software training or equivalent
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in PC helpdesk/applications support, preferably
• Experience working within the legal, professional services, or financial sector, preferably

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $125,000.00 /Yr.
