Xcel Energy is hiring a Senior Technology Solution Consultant to lead SAP EAM/PM implementations and align business needs with technology across enterprise projects. The role partners with technology teams, business stakeholders, and partners to ensure functional fit and future readiness.

The candidate will work across SAP EAM/PM, PS, MM, WM, HR and BI integrations, including SAP BTP, Fiori apps, and GIS integrations, with up to 25% travel across the US. Hybrid work from Minneapolis is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business/IS/CS/engineering.
• 7+ years in a domain-specific or transformation role.
• Experience with enterprise systems and SAP-based asset management.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle SAP EAM implementation from requirements to post go-live support.
• Collaborate with partners and engineering teams to guide solution design and integration with GIS tools.
• Validate end-to-end processes and ensure alignment with business needs across PM/PS modules.

Many roles are expected to work onsite three days per week (Tuesday–Thursday); however, work location expectations vary based on role, team, and business needs.Position SummaryThe Senior Technology Solution Consultant is a domain-aligned expert responsible for advising, translating, and aligning business needs with technology enablement during enterprise transformation/major initiatives across end-to-end solution lifecycle of Operations team at Xcel Energy. Operating at the intersection of business operations and system delivery, this role partners with technology teams, business stakeholders and implementation partners to ensure functional alignment, system usability and future state readiness. The Senior Consultant applies deep domain expertise to guide solutioning, validate end-to-end design, and support change adoption across the transformation lifecycle.The preferred candidate will be able to commute 3 days a week to our downtown Minneapolis office.Essential ResponsibilitiesResponsible for full life cycle implementation of SAP EAM business processes, from business requirements gathering through conducting business workshops, including gap analysis, blueprinting, design, configuration, testing, cutover, data migration, go-live, training, and post go-live support.Contribute to the implementation and execution of the SAP EAM/Plant Maintenance processes and its integration with Utilities Field Execution solutions (SAP Asset Manager, SAP Field Service Management etc.) and GIS systems (ESRI, Smallworld etc.): Asses current state, identify customer requirements and define future state and/or business solution.Translate business needs into documented functional and technical solution requirements and validate feasibility.Collaborate with implementation partners, architects, and engineering teams to guide solution design.Validate functional design against end-to-end business processes, upstream/downstream impacts, and integration points.Serve as domain SME across design, build, testing, migration, and deployment phases.Facilitate cross functional design decisions and ensure alignment between business requirements and system capabilities.Support impact assessment, solution traceability, readiness work, and design documentation.Minimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.7+ years of experience in a domain specific or system enabled or transformation role.Strong understanding of enterprise systems and systems enabled business processes.Advanced process and system thinking and functional solution literacy.Strong stakeholder alignment, requirements shaping and cross functional influence skills.Knowledge of integration points across business functions.Preferred Requirements10+ years of hands-on functional, configuration and design experience with SAP (S/4 HANA preferred with Fiori) systems in Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Plant Maintenance (PM)/Service Management (SM) and Project Systems (PS) modules. Utility experience preferred.Proven expertise in Preventive Maintenance plans, Functional locations & Equipment Master Data, Characteristics, Measurement points, Work Centers Capacity planning and scheduling, Equipment BOMs, Task lists, Notification, Maintenance & Service order management, Service Contracts & Service Entry Sheets, Compatible Units, Project Structure and Work breakdown structure (WBS) Hierarchy, Cost Flow Analysis of Work Orders, etc.Knowledge of integration of SAP PM with other modules including PS, MM, WM, HR, FI/CO and BW HANA Sidecar integration for Reporting.
