Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced technology resiliency leader to design, implement, and continuously improve disaster recovery and operational resilience for critical services across hybrid environments. The role requires deep expertise in recovery planning, testing strategies, and validation, with strong communication to both technical and executive audiences.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.
7+ years in disaster recovery, resiliency engineering, infrastructure/cloud engineering, or related field.
Experience designing and implementing enterprise DR and resiliency solutions in complex tech environments.
Experience establishing and validating RTOs, RPOs, priorities, and recovery strategies for critical services.
Strong understanding of operational resilience, DR, business continuity, high availability, redundancy, and fault‑tolerant architecture.
Experience developing recovery plans, runbooks, testing strategies, and validation methodologies.
Experience designing and facilitating recovery exercises, tabletop drills, functional testing, and enterprise failover/failback events.
Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure platforms including compute, storage, networking, databases, middleware, virtualization, and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

Support ETRR's strategy by designing, implementing, validating, and improving resiliency of critical services.
Serve as SME in disaster recovery, resiliency, cyber recovery, high availability, and service restoration across on‑prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.
Partner with architecture, cloud, cybersecurity, risk, audit, and business resiliency teams to set resilient patterns and recovery standards.
Contribute to Enterprise Resiliency Architecture and Recovery Engineering with guidance on readiness, automation, dependency mapping, testing, metrics, and executive reporting.

Job description

Support Navy Federal's Enterprise Technology Resiliency & Recovery (ETRR) strategy by designing, implementing, validating, and continuously improving the resiliency and recoverability of critical technology services.
Serve as a subject‑matter expert in disaster recovery, operational resilience, cyber recovery, high availability, and service restoration across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
Partner with architecture, infrastructure, cloud, application, cybersecurity, risk, audit, and business resiliency teams to establish resilient technology patterns, recovery standards, dependency‑aware recovery strategies, and recovery assurance practices that enable critical business services to withstand, adapt to, and recover from disruption.
Contribute to Enterprise Resiliency Architecture, Recovery Engineering, Cyber Resilience, Recovery Validation, and Continuous Improvement by advancing recovery readiness, recovery automation, dependency mapping, testing methodologies, resiliency metrics, and executive reporting.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.
7+ years of experience in disaster recovery, resiliency engineering, infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, cyber recovery, site reliability engineering, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise disaster recovery and resiliency solutions in complex technology environments.
Experience establishing and validating RTOs, RPOs, service recovery priorities, and recovery strategies for critical business services.
Strong understanding of operational resilience, disaster recovery, business continuity, high availability, redundancy, and fault‑tolerant architecture principles.
Experience developing recovery plans, recovery runbooks, testing strategies, and recovery validation methodologies.
Experience designing and facilitating recovery exercises, tabletop exercises, functional testing, and enterprise failover/failback events.
Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure platforms, including compute, storage, networking, databases, middleware, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud.
Experience with backup, replication, recovery orchestration, cyber recovery, and infrastructure automation technologies.
Experience in analyzing complex applications and infrastructure dependencies across hybrid technology environments.
Ability to communicate technical resiliency concepts to both technical and executive audiences.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, risk assessment, and technical leadership skills.
