Job summary

dsm-firmenich in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a Senior Technician, Maintenance to perform mechanical and electrical maintenance, troubleshoot complex equipment, read blueprints, and support safety and quality goals.

You will operate standard tools, use CMMS for work orders, and collaborate across teams while complying with ISO 9001/14001/45001 and customer standards. A strong background in food manufacturing or industrial facilities is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma required, with Trade School Certificate (or equivalent) in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance.
• Hands-On Maintenance: 5+ years in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance within a food manufacturing or industrial facility, with proven ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex equipment.
• Certifications: Maintenance/Industrial certification required; demonstrates technical credibility and safe work practices.
• Technical Skills: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals to identify issues and perform repairs.
• Licensing Advantage: Class II Stationary Engineering License highly valued.
• Automation Knowledge: Exposure to PLC programming, troubleshooting, and controls is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate standard maintenance tools (power, hand, electric) and precision maintenance tools.
• Demonstrate experience in maintenance trades and components (e.g., PLCs, welding, pipefitting, fabrication, lubrication, pumps, valves, steam/hydraulic/pneumatic systems).
• Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance with CMMS documentation.
• Operate forklifts, loaders, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts per production docs to deliver to correct location.
• Maintain safety and clean work environment and adhere to all safety policies.
• Follow ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and FSSC 22000 policies and procedures.

Senior Technician, MaintenanceSt. Louis, MOA great maintenance mechanic is a teammate that places safety first. The maintenance technician is well versed in mechanical and electrical maintenance with knowledge of troubleshooting, reading blueprints and can work as a team player with different sets of skills.Your Key Responsibilities:• Leverage knowledge and ability to operate standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools, electric tools, precision maintenance tools and preventative maintenance technology tools• Demonstrate experience in maintenance trades and components (ex. Low voltage electrical (240V and less), PLC, welding, pipefitting, fabrication, gearbox and bearing maintenance, lubrication, pumps and piping systems, valves, mechanical maintenance, steam system, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems)• Completing preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance throughout the facility, with limited direction in a CMMS system. Document completed work and the conditions found utilizing maintenance computer software and interact regularly with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement of facility operations• Operating forklifts, loaders, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts following standard production documentation to deliver to the correct location• Understanding and adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
