dsm-firmenich in Princeton, NJ is seeking a Process Plant Millwright & Equipment Technician for the 1st shift. You will maintain pumps, valves, piping, and rotating equipment to keep processes online and safe.

Requires 2 years of technical training or GED and 3–5 years of maintenance experience in chemical/food/beverage settings; mechanical, pipefitting, electrical, or welding skills are a plus. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with two years of technical school or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3–5 years of maintenance experience in chemical, food, or beverage manufacturing.
• Mechanical, machining, electrical, pipefitting, or welding experience is a strong plus.
• Ability to read engineering diagrams and technical procedures; communicate clearly with managers, clients, and peers.

Responsibilities

• Keep critical process equipment online through preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on piping systems, valves, gauges, air/product lines, and more.
• Execute mechanical and applicable electrical maintenance on plant and building systems—solenoids, limit switches, actuated valves.
• Diagnose and repair rotating equipment (pumps, mixers, pneumatic/electric machinery) to safeguard continuous operations.
• Rebuild diaphragm, rotary, gear, and centrifugal pumps; service manual valves, pneumatic mixers, and vessels to as‑new condition.
• Install and start up capital equipment; welding, fabrication, and industrial piping capabilities are valuable differentiators.

Mechanical, machining, electrical, pipefitting, or welding experience is a strong plus.Ability to read engineering diagrams and technical procedures; communicate clearly with managers, clients, and peers.Analytical aptitude to gather data, evaluate results, draw conclusions, and deliver recommendations or project reports; MS Word and Excel familiarity is a plus.Physical ability to stand 75–85% of the shift; climb ladders/stairs up to 2–3 stories; and consistently use PPE.Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.Compensation and benefitsSalary $32.00 - $36.00, with individual pay determined by job‑related skills, experience, education or training, and primary work location.
