Job summary

Edwards Lifesciences in Draper, Utah is seeking a Senior Technician, Facilities to perform repairs and preventative maintenance in plant and office spaces. This 1st shift, on-site role supports safe, efficient facilities operation, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and carpentry tasks, with emphasis on reliability and safety.

You will work with CMMS, read blueprints, and collaborate across departments to ensure environments are healthy for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent with 3 years related experience required, with working knowledge in two or more related fields including plumbing, lighting, carpentry, and painting.
• Good communication skills including ability to read, comprehend, speak, and write English.
• Ability to use hand and power tools and read blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform more complex repairs and preventative maintenance in plant or office facilities with knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, painting, lighting, and related systems.
• Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections for repairs and maintenance to ensure continued operation of facilities and grounds including HVAC and electrical systems.
• Perform a wider range of routine tasks including on-call and weekend work orders, employee moves, office setups, and events with high customer satisfaction while adhering to standards.
• Perform daily logging and inspection of facilities systems to ensure operations within specifications.
• Obtain quotes and initiate purchase requests for maintenance and renovation work.
• Perform predictive maintenance inspections of critical facilities systems to detect abnormalities and prevent failures.
• Other duties as assigned by Management.

The Senior Technician, Facilities performs repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities.

This is a 1st shift on-site role located in Draper, Utah.

How you'll make an impact:

• Perform more complex repairs and preventative maintenance , including two or more of the following: carpentry, plumbing, painting, lighting repair, in plant or office facilities with functional knowledge of all specialties, utilizing PM system.
• Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary for continued operation of facilities and grounds, including HVAC systems, electrical systems, and general plumbing.
• Perform a wider range of routine, which may include on-call and weekend work orders including employee moves, office set ups and changes, setup and tear down of furniture and fixtures, meetings, events, and conferences with high customer satisfaction while adhering to company standards.
• Perform daily logging and inspection of facilities systems including production facility environmental support systems to ensure operations within specifications.
• Obtain quotes and initiate purchase requests for maintenance and renovation work.
• Perform predictive maintenance inspection of critical facilities systems to detect abnormalities for predictive maintenance action to prevent premature system failures.
• Other duties as assigned by Management.

What you'll need:

• H.S. Diploma or equivalent with 3 years related experience required with working knowledge in two or more of the related fields including plumbing, lighting, carpentry, and painting required.

What else we look for:

• Certification in a related trade school program preferred.
• Good communication skills, including ability to read, comprehend, speak, and write English.
• Good computer skills, including MS Office and computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Ability to use hand and power tools and read and understand blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
• Ability to identify problems and relevant issues in straightforward and more complex situations.
• Inspect and report issues noticed in interior and exterior spaces, including landscape.
• Monitor inventory level and reorder to replenish supplies.
• Must be able to work in a team environment, including inter-departmental teams.
• Ability to provide feedback in a professional, direct, and tactful manner.
• Ability to represent the organization to outside contacts, e.g., contractors, vendors, suppliers.
• Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control.
