Senior Technician – Acute Care General Emergent Surgery and Trauma Unit

Join Cleveland Clinic Akron General as a Senior Technician – Acute Care General Emergent Surgery and Trauma Unit. We have been providing world-class care to the community for over 100 years. Our 52A Surgical Unit specializes in general surgeries such as bariatric gastric sleeve, Roux-en-Y, cholecystectomy, thyroidectomy, urostomy, and more. It serves as the primary trauma floor for patients not requiring intensive care, handling high-acuity cases transferred from the PACU and ED, requiring close monitoring and mobilization.

This position is evening shift, from 3:00PM to 11:30PM.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare units, patient rooms, and beds for admissions, transfers, or emergencies.
  • Provide and document care such as bathing, linen changes, dressing, feeding, etc.
  • Measure and record vital signs and patient measurements.
  • Perform treatment procedures including blood draws, applying ice/heat packs, skin preps, setting up oxygen, and more.
  • Assist with pre- and post-operative care, including turning, positioning, and ambulation.
  • Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
  • Conduct hourly safety rounds, respond promptly to patient needs, and document care in electronic records.
  • Complete ongoing training and certification requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or obtain within the new hire period
  • Basic computer skills and prior job or educational experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)
  • One year of recent acute care experience
