Overview

Be the Difference

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technician located at the Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, FL. This fulltime position provides Mechanical, Pneumatic, Fluids, and Test support to the Launch Equipment Test Facility (LETF) at the Kennedy Space Center. Work will be performed onsite at the Kennedy Space Center. This position may require occasional overtime including weekend work depending on task. Shift work may be required.

LOCATION: Kennedy Space Center, FL

JOB STATUS: FT

Must be a US Citizen

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • High school diploma or General Equivalence Diploma.
  • 10 Years of related experience.
  • Experience using a variety of equipment used in fabrication and testing. This includes common hand tools, measurement instruments, torque wrenches, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, drawings, work instructions and perform maintenance and operation of equipment and systems.
  • Requires work both inside and outside throughout the LETF complex.
  • May require daily individual to travel to different areas at KSC.
  • Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the facility.
  • Climbing ladders, platforms, and accessing confined spaces may be necessary.
  • All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Tube Bending and Flaring experience.
  • Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SharePoint.
  • Operational experience with Forklifts 6K-30K, JLG, Scissor Lifts, Jib Hoist, and Over Head Cranes.

  • Assist in the application of engineering principles in creating, testing, and modifying mechanical equipment or systems at the LETF
