L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Senior Specialist Technical Writer in Ashburn, VA to develop and manage high-quality S1000D documentation. You will interpret complex engineering data, lead structured content, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

The role requires collaboration across engineering, quality, and project teams and hands-on experience with Arbortext and CSDB. Strong writing, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment are

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher; 6+ years of relevant experience (or 10+ years in lieu of a degree).
• Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance is required.
• Experience with S1000D, MIL-STD-24784, and data modules/processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, organize, and maintain S1000D documentation per standards.
• Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and SMEs input.
• Create XML-based docs using Arbortext and S1000D tools.
• Ensure documentation adheres to style guides and formatting rules.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, logistics, and project teams.
• Perform detailed quality reviews for structure, formatting, and compliance.
• Maintain S1000D content within CSDB and support publication workflows.
• Develop and maintain style guides, templates, and best practices.
