Job summary

The SEI at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh is seeking a Senior Writer/Editor to manage content for blogs, the SEI website, reports, and presentations. You will work with researchers and engineers through all stages of the writing process, from inception to completion.

Ideal candidates have at least five years of writing and editing experience, excellent attention to detail, and strong adherence to style guides. You will plan, edit, and tailor content for diverse audiences and schedules.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with technical staff to write blog posts about technical topics.
• Write technical news and feature articles for SEI website, Year in Review, and reports.
• Write and edit web content, video scripts, and content for other media.
• Edit formal technical reports.
• Tailor work for each project—editing, copyediting, or proofreading.
• Write and edit brief articles and marketing materials.
• Plan, manage, schedule, and track project tasks.
• Coordinate with Publication Design, Web Services, PR, and Outreach teams.
