Job description

We Are

Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.

You Are

You have spent years working with simulation tools and you know that the hardest part is not running the solver, it is understanding what the customer is actually trying to achieve and guiding them to an answer that works in their world. You are comfortable translating between engineering theory and messy real-world applications where boundary conditions are unclear and timelines are tight.

You have worked with CFD tools like Fluent or CFX, maybe in industry doing product development, maybe in a consulting role helping others solve thermal or flow problems. Either way, you understand fluid dynamics deeply enough to know when a model is set up wrong and why it matters.

What excites you now is the intersection of that technical depth and emerging AI tools. You see the potential for large language models and AI-driven support platforms to change how engineers get unstuck, and you want to be part of shaping that future, not just watching it happen.

You are someone who enjoys teaching as much as solving. Writing a clear knowledge base article or walking a customer through a tricky setup feels as rewarding as cracking a tough convergence issue yourself. At Synopsys, you will work with a global team that values both technical rigor and the human side of customer success.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Help customers solve complex CFD and thermal simulation problems using Synopsys and Ansys Fluids products including Fluent, CFX, and Workbench
  • Use AI-powered support platforms alongside your engineering expertise to diagnose issues, recommend solutions, and accelerate time to resolution
  • Build long-term relationships with customers across aerospace, automotive, energy, and other industries by understanding their workflows and helping them succeed with simulation
  • Create and maintain technical content like knowledge base articles, troubleshooting guides, and best practice documents that help customers and internal teams get answers faster
  • Lead or contribute to team projects focused on process improvements, content development, and operational excellence initiatives
  • Submit product enhancement requests and document software defects through internal quality processes, then validate fixes during product release testing
  • Evaluate AI-generated support responses for accuracy and relevance, providing feedback that improves the system and helps shape how AI tools support engineering workflows
The Impact You Will Have
  • Customers will adopt simulation tools more effectively and solve engineering challenges faster because you helped them navigate complex setups and workflows
  • Product development teams will receive clearer, more actionable feedback on software issues and feature requests based on real customer use cases you document
  • Internal and external users will find better answers faster because of the technical content and documentation you create and improve
  • The Customer Excellence team will operate more efficiently because you contributed to process improvements and shared knowledge that benefits the entire organization
  • AI-driven support tools will become more effective for engineering workflows because you evaluated their outputs and provided feedback grounded in real technical expertise
  • Customers will stay engaged and renew their investments because you built trust and demonstrated the value of Synopsys simulation solutions in their specific applications
  • The broader engineering community will benefit from the product improvements and feature enhancements you championed based on customer needs
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • Hands-on experience using Synopsys or Ansys Fluids software, or demonstrated proficiency with other commercial CAE tools in a professional setting
  • Strong technical foundation in fluid dynamics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and numerical methods
  • Proven ability to build numerical models and apply simulation techniques to solve real engineering problems, not just academic exercises
  • Clear written and spoken English with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to customers with varying levels of simulation experience
  • U.S. citizenship to meet ITAR and export-controlled program requirements
Who You Are
  • You can take a customer's vague description of a convergence issue and ask the right questions to figure out whether it is a mesh problem, a physics setup issue, or something else entirely
  • You enjoy the teaching moments as much as the solving moments, whether that is walking someone through turbulence model selection or writing a guide that helps hundreds of users avoid the same mistake
  • You are organized enough to juggle support cases across multiple customers and industries without dropping threads or losing track of follow-ups
  • You are genuinely curious about AI and machine learning, not because it is trendy but because you see how it could change the way engineers interact with simulation tools
  • You take ownership when something is not working, whether that means digging into a tricky case yourself, looping in a product expert, or escalating a defect until it gets resolved
  • You thrive in environments where collaboration matters, where sharing what you learned on one case helps a teammate solve the next one faster
The Team You'll Be Part Of

You will join a global team of engineers dedicated to helping customers maximize the value of Synopsys simulation technologies. Team members work closely with customers, product development teams, sales organizations, and other technical specialists to ensure exceptional customer experiences. The team values knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous learning, and you will have opportunities to contribute to strategic initiatives that shape how the Customer Excellence organization grows and evolves.

Rewards and Benefits

We offer a comprehensive range of health, wellness, and financial benefits to cater to your needs. Our total rewards include both monetary and non-monetary offerings. Your recruiter will provide more details about the salary range and benefits during the hiring process.
