Dixon Hicks, a former submarine major command and commanding officer, leads the Maritime Industrial Base (MIB) support for this high-performing contractor team supporting NAVSEA. LinkedIn profile

Team Submarine’s Program Offices are responsible for:

  1. The acquisition of COLUMBIA Class Submarines and managing resources for R&D, design, construction, T&E, and LFT&E, a major defense program with political significance.
  2. The acquisition of VIRGINIA Class Submarines, overseeing R&D, design, construction, T&E, LFT&E, and fleet introduction of the Navy’s newest nuclear attack submarines, with a lifecycle cost of approximately $336B.
  3. The SSN(X) Office, responsible for the future fast attack submarine’s acquisition and design, focusing on multi-mission capability, speed, stealth, and payloads.

You must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.

Serco supports the US Navy through the Team Submarine contract, unifying submarine activities to improve communication and efficiency in submarine R&D, acquisition, and maintenance.

The Maritime Industrial Base (MIB) supports PEO UWS and is seeking a motivated individual for the Senior Technical Supply Chain Manager role, leading supply chain initiatives to enhance readiness and throughput, analyzing data, overseeing digital tools, and engaging with suppliers remotely.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead supply chain improvement projects to increase throughput and supplier maturity.
  • Analyze supplier data and manufacturing processes to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Integrate digital tools like Power BI, Smartsheet, and ERP dashboards.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to align activities with acquisition milestones.
  • Manage supplier engagement and modernization projects.
  • Develop repositories for metrics, documentation, and performance plans.
  • Provide briefings to Navy leadership and collaborate with analysts, SMEs, and industry partners.
  • Track and ensure performance of funding initiatives.
  • Support senior management with analytical and program support.
  • Work regionally to evaluate projects and funding strategies.
  • Engage with workforce development and regional economic organizations.
  • Draft reports for Congressional inquiries and provide input on spend goals.
Qualifications

To succeed, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Industrial Systems, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 8–10 years of experience in supply chain, project management, or industrial operations, preferably in defense or aerospace.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, Smartsheet, Excel, SharePoint, and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of technical drawings, engineering workflows, and manufacturing.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to deliver high-stakes presentations and briefings.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, ability to work independently.
  • Supply chain or Nuclear submarine UWS experience is a plus.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Approximately 15% travel required.
