Job summary

BRMi is seeking a senior, technically minded professional to shape the technical direction and long-term health of our Digital Banking platform. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, solution architecture, security, and platform modernization.

You will partner with Engineering, Architecture, Security, and Product teams to evaluate existing solutions, reduce tech debt, and ensure scalable, secure enterprise applications.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, application development, solution architecture, or a similar technical role.
• Strong Java experience and understanding of Java-based enterprise applications.
• Hands-on experience with APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and enterprise application integrations.
• Experience designing, reviewing, or supporting highly scalable and resilient applications.
• Understanding of modern application architecture and best practices.
• Experience with cloud-based or cloud-native applications; Azure experience preferred.
• CI/CD, DevOps, automated deployments, and modern software delivery practices.
• Strong understanding of application security, secure coding, API security, auth, encryption, and secrets management.
• SSDLC, security-by-design, and threat modeling concepts.
• Ability to review technical designs and provide recommendations across teams.
• Troubleshooting across complex applications; strong cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and troubleshoot application source code and architectures.
• Evaluate existing solutions and identify risks, tech debt, and modernization opportunities.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, Security, and Product teams to guide technical direction.
• Design for scalability, resiliency, maintainability, and secure operations.
• Support/lead architecture reviews and provide actionable recommendations.
• Promote secure software development lifecycle and threat modeling practices.
