Description

Your Tasks:

As a Senior Technical Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for training and coaching sales team members, implementing sales action plans to maximize sales and profitability of Miltenyi Biotec, Inc., through expert knowledge of market segments, technical expertise, and selling skills. You will handle sales of instruments, services, reagents, and other consumables from new and existing accounts within a defined territory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Train, mentor, and coach sales representatives to drive sales revenue within and outside your territory.
  • Lead by example in behavior, attitude, and performance, promoting a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Develop and test new strategies in your territory and share successful approaches with management.
  • Participate in focus groups or projects, collaborating with departments like marketing and customer service.
  • Meet or exceed sales budgets for your territory through in-depth market and technical knowledge.
  • Work with management to develop and execute territory business plans.
  • Serve as a regional technical and sales expert, mentoring team members.
  • Collaborate with internal teams for team selling efforts.
  • Analyze market data and develop action plans for sales targets and opportunities.
  • Lead seminars and presentations, creating sales tools to support the team.
  • Travel within your territory for customer visits, product demonstrations, trade shows, and troubleshooting.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to foster ongoing business.
  • Use the company’s CRM system for documenting interactions, managing appointments, and tracking opportunities.
  • Complete reports on business transactions and expenses accurately and timely.
  • Provide market trend and competitive intelligence to management for new product and marketing opportunities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer and technological information.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D., M.S., or B.S. degree with 5+ years of sales or research experience in the life sciences, or equivalent.
  • Background in Immunology and/or Molecular Biology preferred; Ph.D. highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of sales concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and ability to access restricted government accounts.

Physical Demands:

Regularly required to walk, handle objects, reach, talk, hear, stand, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift/move up to 75 pounds. Must have vision abilities including close, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Ability to multitask and work at a rapid pace while maintaining attention to detail. Must travel routinely by car and plane.

Work Environment:

Variety of facilities, including a temperature-controlled home office environment. Must be mobile for customer visits and capable of handling research/clinical equipment following safety guidelines and SOPs.

Salary & Benefits:

The base salary ranges from $150,300 to $203,400 per year, plus performance incentives. Comprehensive benefits include health, vision, dental insurance, and a 401(k). Additional compensation such as bonuses or car allowances may be available.
