Job summary

Audubon seeks a Senior Technical Safety Associate to join our Houston, TX team. You will be responsible for the quality of Technical Safety deliverables, coordinating 3rd party studies and leading safety workshops.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in engineering (ABET preferred), PE certification preferred, and 10+ years in process safety with knowledge of API codes. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential for coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• ABET-accredited program preferred.
• Chem Eng or Fire Protection & Safety Eng preferred.
• PE certification preferred.
• 10+ years of industry experience preferred.
• Familiar with API codes and process safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality of Technical Safety deliverables.

• Ensure design meets Technical Safety requirements.

• Manage third-party studies such as QRA, FERA, EERA.
• Fire protection and engineering design including fire water calculations.
• Prepare Fire and Gas Detection layouts and safety signage.
• Assist in manhour estimation and scheduling for proposals.

Audubon is currently seeking aSenior Technical Safety Associate to join our team in our Houston, TX Office.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accountable for the quality of Technical Safety deliverables
• Support and supervise task delegation to team, as required
• Participatein audits as required
• Ensure that design meets all Technical Safety requirements
• Participate in project HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, and other safety workshops when required and experience of coordinating HAZOP, HAZID, SIL Classification studies and other workshops
• Manage and review 3rd party studies such as QRA, FERA, EERA etc., as required
• Fire Protection and Engineering Design experience including preparation ofFire Water PID's,Performance of Fire Water demand calculations,Performance of Fire Water Hydraulic modelling using PIPENET or similar
• Performance of Passive Fire Protection studies and drawings
• Preparation of Fire and Gas Detection layouts, Safety Equipment layouts, Safety Signage etc.
• Aid in Manhours estimation and scheduling for project proposals

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• Bachelor’s Degree from ABET Accredited Institution preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or Fire Protection & Safety Engineering preferred.
• Professional Engineering Certification Preferred.
• 10+ years industry experience preferred,
• Working knowledge of codes (API, etc.) and Process Safety Regulations preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others verbally and in writing, including public speaking to groups of up to 30 professionals.
• Ability to lead teams to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal.
• Ability to lead teams to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work related problems.
• Ability to provide instruction and clarification to team members.
