About Whitespace

Whitespace is an information technology consultancy serving middle-market clients with a passion for social good, impactful technology, and meaningful client engagement. We believe in human-centered, authentic approaches to crafting solutions that create measurable value for our clients and the communities they serve. As a Senior Technical Requirements Analyst, you will play a foundational role in shaping project success—ensuring that technical teams build the right things, the right way.

The Role

As a Senior Technical Requirements Analyst, you will lead the translation of complex business needs into actionable, testable, and technically feasible user stories. You will partner closely with stakeholders, delivery managers, and development teams to guide a project from discovery through to successful deployment. The ideal candidate has demonstrable experience driving end-to-end software delivery, with active contributions to managing project outcomes.

This is not an entry-level role. You must have played a key role in the successful delivery of at least one full software project, with strong ownership of outcomes and cross-functional collaboration.

Core Responsibilities

  • Drive Requirement Discovery: Partner with product owners and stakeholders to elicit and define detailed business and technical requirements.
  • Write High-Quality User Stories: Author and maintain well-decomposed, testable user stories with clear acceptance criteria and a well-defined Definition of Done (DoD).
  • Facilitate Agile Ceremonies: Lead or support sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Delivery Management: Actively support or lead project delivery—tracking progress, resolving roadblocks, ensuring milestones are met, and collaborating across roles to deliver business value on time.
  • Backlog Ownership: Prioritize and refine product backlogs in partnership with Product Owners and Scrum Masters.
  • Research & Documentation: Conduct product, user, or market research and translate insights into actionable requirements.
  • Support Testing Activities: Participate in application and user acceptance testing, ensuring requirements traceability and alignment with business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Coaching: Educate and guide stakeholders on Agile practices and product lifecycle concepts.

Who You Are

  • A natural problem-solver with delivery-focused accountability
  • A clear communicator and effective facilitator
  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, remote-first culture
  • A detail-oriented analyst with strong ownership of outcomes
  • A strong collaborator who values people and purpose

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Agile software development environments.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to or managing successful software delivery efforts.
  • Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and SDLC.
  • Proven ability to write robust user stories, acceptance criteria, and Definition of Done that drive delivery quality.
  • Skilled at leading Agile ceremonies and resolving blockers through facilitation and negotiation.
  • Comfortable managing ambiguity, resolving stakeholder misalignment, and driving clarity.
  • Hands-on experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, or equivalent platforms.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in delivery management or coordination on complex software projects.
  • Background in government or enterprise-scale project delivery.
  • Familiarity with Section 508 Accessibility guidelines.
  • Exposure to UX design and ability to collaborate with design teams.
  • Agile certifications (CSM, CSPO, SAFe) and experience in dual-role environments (e.g., BA/Scrum Master).
  • Technical background including a BS in Computer Science or related, or experience with software development..

What We Offer

  • 100% remote work (within the U.S.)
  • 100% paid HSA medical, dental, and vision premiums and 20% for dependents.
  • A $500 annual HSA deposit if enrolled in a HSA medical plan.
  • 401(k) match (4% of annual compensation)
  • 15 days PTO + 11 paid holidays
  • $1,500 annual professional development budget
  • $1,000 team engagement budget per team per quarter (Get to know your team, on us!)
  • Discretionary bonuses (annual and spot)
  • Leadership advancement opportunities
  • Technically sharp, collaborative teams
  • A mission-driven environment with diverse and meaningful work
