Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Lafayette, IN, is seeking a Senior Technical Regulatory Compliance Engineer to support Marine Classifications Society regulatory programs and ensure compliance across Caterpillar’s Marine Division.

The role focuses on data gathering, risk management, product development best practices, and collaboration with product groups to assure quality and regulatory adherence throughout development and production.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.
  • Knowledge of product development methods and ability to research, identify and apply formal disciplines and best practices for improving the quality and costs related to product development.
  • Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Knowledge of various product engineering techniques; ability to master professional methods to design, build and process hardware products or components.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and stay current on product regulatory requirements, more specifically Marine Classifications Society requirements, and understand application of said requirements to Caterpillar products.
  • Follow and utilize established processes and tools to collect, assess, and manage information in support of product certification and compliance.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities for processes and tools used to manage product regulatory compliance risks.
  • Collaborate with product groups, design control and operations to ensure the development, validation and production of product that meets applicable product regulatory requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.

About The Role

The Senior Technical Regulatory Compliance Engineer supports product regulatory compliance programs through various activities that assist in managing compliance risk and ensuring compliance for Marine Classifications Society regulatory requirements for our Marine Division.

Summary Pay Range

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
