Since its founding in 2015, 1X has been at the forefront of developing advanced humanoid robots designed for household use. Our mission is to create an abundant supply of labor via safe, intelligent humanoids. At 1X, you’ll own critical roles and have agency to innovate and improve in any and all talent processes and be rewarded based on merit and achievement.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Recruiter, specialised in AI, ML and Firmware. In this role, you will do full cycle recruitment, working closely with the VP of AI and VP of Software, on finding and attracting the most exceptional candidates to join a category defining team.

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for technical roles in AI, machine learning, firmware, and software engineering.
  • Partner directly with the VP of AI, VP of Software, and hiring managers to understand talent needs, craft job descriptions, and calibrate profiles.
  • Proactively source top-tier candidates through outbound outreach, networking, and events.
  • Drive and continuously refine a world-class candidate experience from first contact to onboarding.
  • Lead and optimize interview processes and scorecards for consistency and effectiveness.
  • Champion 1X’s employer brand in the AI and robotics communities through events, online presence, and thought leadership.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with People Operations and HR to improve recruiting tools and systems.
  • Significant years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, ideally in high-growth tech or robotics companies (bonus points if they are known for their talent density)
  • Proven success sourcing and hiring for AI/ML and software engineering roles, especially in deep tech domains in the Bay Area and other competitive markets.
  • Deep understanding of technical concepts and fluency in assessing candidates across AI, embedded systems, firmware, and software.
  • High agency, low ego. You operate autonomously, deliver results, and seek to improve everything you touch.
  • Creative mindset - you have the ability to question and rethink Talent processes in order to reach both high calibre candidates and hidden gems.


Nice to Have

  • Prior experience recruiting for robotics, embedded hardware, or edge AI teams.
  • Technical background or education (e.g., CS degree, bootcamp, or hands-on project work).
  • Experience with employer branding or talent marketing in deep tech spaces.


Compensation

At 1X your work and results will be rewarded with a total rewards package consisting of a base salary, stock options and benefits. Base salary range is $132,000 to $186,000. Your actual salary will be based on your knowledge, skills and experience.

Location Policy

We believe the best work is done when collaborating and therefore require in-person presence in our office locations.
