GEICO is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with a passion for managing complex Finance Technology programs across multiple departments. You will lead teams of engineers focused on delivering enterprise-wide products and drive our insurance business transformation, transitioning from traditional IT to a Tech organization emphasizing engineering excellence, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.
This Senior Technical Project Manager is a key member of the Financial Technology team, overseeing planning, prioritization, and implementation within the Finance Technology domain. You will collaborate with stakeholders at various levels to ensure timely project delivery. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in project management, working knowledge of Workday Financials, and a background in Financial Services, Accounting, or Corporate Finance. Experience in Insurance Technology is a plus.
Position Responsibilities
- Partner with sponsors, delivery teams, and stakeholders to deliver quality solutions on time and within budget.
- Create and manage detailed project schedules, change control processes, and documentation.
- Coordinate with leadership to address dependencies, negotiate delivery milestones, and ensure on-time project completion.
- Identify, assess, and communicate project risks, providing solutions or alternatives.
- Understand how requirements and design choices impact systems across multiple areas.
- Report on project progress and key metrics, providing ideas for process and delivery improvements.
- Leverage operational and LEAN principles to streamline processes and increase efficiency.
- Coordinate activities across systems, departments, and teams, utilizing your finance systems knowledge to support GEICO’s current and future needs.
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle.
- Utilize experience with ERP systems (e.g., Workday, PeopleSoft, Oracle Fusion, Hyperion, SAP) to enhance or develop applications supporting GEICO’s Finance organization.
- Apply your understanding of Finance, Accounting, and Management Reporting to develop solutions that meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and business leaders to solve complex problems.
- Report on project and program status, and suggest improvements for product and project delivery.
- Perform process engineering, review, and refine existing processes, ensuring improvements are completed without jeopardizing delivery.
- Share best practices and foster process improvements across teams.
- Analyze costs, forecasts, and incorporate findings into business planning.
- Facilitate agreement on technical solutions and ensure timely resolution of system design issues.
- Conduct ad hoc research to meet requirements and track progress.
Qualifications
- Proven program and project management skills, with experience managing large-scale initiatives.
- Deep expertise in Finance domain to interpret requirements into system solutions.
- Working knowledge of Workday Financials.
- Strong understanding of accounting, management reporting, and cross-finance practices.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Experience or certification in LEAN principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work with business leaders across Technology and Finance.
- Experience with continuous delivery methodologies.

Experience
- 12+ years managing large-scale Finance Technology programs.
- 10+ years in Product or Project Management.
- 8+ years with ERP solutions like Workday, PeopleSoft, Oracle Fusion, Hyperion, or SAP.
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- PMP or Scrum certification preferred.
Education
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
Salary Range
$130,000.00 - $260,000.00. Final offer depends on experience, education, and other factors.
