About the Opportunity

Ellucian is seeking an experienced Sr. Technical Project Manager to join our Product organization in the US to lead implementations of our integrated administrative solutions for colleges and universities. The Sr. Technical Project Manager will drive complex SaaS implementations, coordinating functional and technical activities to deliver successful customer outcomes.

We are looking for a technically fluent project leader who is excited about transforming SaaS implementations through artificial intelligence, automation, and emerging technologies. Ellucian is actively incorporating AI and agentic capabilities into our delivery tools and processes, and this role will be expected to use these technologies to simplify work, accelerate implementations, improve project visibility, and increase the likelihood of successful outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines strong project management fundamentals with technical acumen, curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to challenge traditional ways of working. This individual will work closely with technical architects, engineers, consultants, and customer functional and IT teams while continuously looking for opportunities to improve how our teams deliver value and customers realize results.

Where you will make an impact

• Lead complex customer-facing SaaS implementations from initiation and planning through execution, delivery, and project closeout.
• Build strong relationships with client stakeholders, delivery teams, and internal partners while creating alignment around project goals, milestones, responsibilities, and outcomes.
• Leverage AI, agentic tools, automation, and project data to streamline delivery, surface insights, anticipate issues, and drive faster decisions.
• Coordinate functional and technical workstreams across solution architecture, integrations, data, environments, testing, security, and deployment activities.
• Partner with technical and functional teams and customer IT stakeholders to identify and manage technical dependencies, risks, constraints, and critical-path activities.
• Translate technical concepts and architecture decisions into clear project plans, milestones, risks, and executive-level communications.
• Apply strong project management disciplines across scope, schedule, resources, dependencies, risk, and financial performance.
• Facilitate resolution of complex technical and cross-functional issues by engaging the right resources and driving clear decisions and accountability.
• Help customers and delivery teams adopt new AI-enabled ways of working that reduce administrative effort and improve efficiency and outcomes.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative project environment while maintaining appropriate technical standards, project controls, and accountability.

What will you bring

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience managing customer‑facing technology projects. Experience with SaaS, ERP, CRM, or other enterprise application implementations is preferred.
• An AI‑forward mindset with curiosity and enthusiasm for using artificial intelligence, automation, and emerging technologies to improve how work gets done.
• Demonstrated experience leading technically complex projects involving areas such as integrations, APIs, data migration, cloud environments, and enterprise systems.
• Technical fluency with the ability to understand architecture diagrams, integration designs, technical dependencies, and risks well enough to drive planning and decision‑making.
• Strong knowledge of project planning, execution, risk management, resource coordination, stakeholder management, and project governance.
• Experience with AI‑enabled productivity or development tools, or demonstrated ability to quickly adopt AI and agentic capabilities within project delivery.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and facilitation skills, including the ability to translate between technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Ability to lead effectively in a matrixed environment while managing multiple priorities, workstreams, stakeholders, and dependencies.
• Experience with higher education enterprise systems or higher education technology environments is preferred.
• Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, CSM) and/or cloud-related certifications are a plus.
