Job summary

OP is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to identify, plan, and coordinate related projects within a program and manage interdependencies in support of specific business strategies.

You will work closely with cross-discipline technology teams, leadership, and business partners to understand technical and business direction, milestones, and budget, providing thought leadership to the project management team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical project/program management experience
• Understanding of cloud, APIs, databases, and software development life cycle
• Strong influence, negotiation and communication skills
• Experience with Agile, Lean, Kanban, Waterfall and blended approaches
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD, and testing concepts
• Experience coaching teams in project management practices
• Ability to understand architectural and technical aspects of projects
• Experience managing large project budgets

Job description

We are on the hunt for a Senior Technical Project Manager to join our team. As a Senior Technical Project Manager, you will identify, plan, and coordinate a set of related projects within a program and manage their interdependencies in support of specific business strategies. You will also apply project management principles and techniques to lead project schedule, scope, quality, cost, and performance risks. The Senior Technical Project Manager will work closely with cross-discipline technology teams, leadership, and business partners to understand technical and business direction, milestones, and budget, as well as provide thought leadership to the project management team.

What You Ll Do

• Drives execution and delivery of technical projects through the full delivery life cycle, ensuring the project is delivered on time and on budget.
• Works with engineering teams, including Software Engineers, Product Managers, Architects, and leadership to establish processes across all program areas that will ensure success on strategically prioritized projects and improve efficiency.
• Defines, optimizes, and manages Agile project management ceremonies and processes for large project teams. Manages hardware/software procurement of assigned projects
• Develops a program plan comprised of parallel projects and multiple project managers that collectively produce work that has significant business impact
• Monitors & adjusts program plan to respond to unplanned changes, ensuring program is progressing to meet business goals
• Creates governance practices and provides senior-level leadership oversight and control for the program
• Implements fiscal practices and controls, authorizing, recording, and reporting on program expenditures & ROI
• Develops infrastructure needed to support the program

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of technical project/program management experience working with technical teams developing enterprise-class solutions.
• Understanding of Cloud, APIs, services, database technologies, technologist roles and responsibilities, capabilities & platform dependencies, software development lifecycle, engineering and/or product development.
• Influence and negotiation, communication, professional maturity & organizational savvy, relationship building, dependency mapping.
• Hands-on experience with practices such as Agile, Lean, Kanban, Waterfall as well as extensive experience with pragmatic blending of styles to facilitate collaboration and delivery.
• Deep understanding of Agile technical practices, DevOps, and testing concepts (CI/CD, TDD).
• Significant experience in coaching and mentoring teams on project management practices including Agile, Lean, Kanban, Waterfall
• Excellent ability to understand architectural and technical aspects of a project.
• Experience managing large project budgets.
• Experience with tools such as: Microsoft Suite, Keynote, Smartsheet, MyPPM (Clarity), MyJira, Tableau, and Power BI.

Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
• Experience in supporting large-scale, global software development programs.
• Agile certifications, i.e., CSM; ACP; CPO; SAFe; LeSS.

• Bachelor s degree and/or equivalent work experience.
