Job description

Minimum qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  2. 8 years of experience in program management.
  3. Ability to travel up to 20%, to Albany, NY as needed.

Preferred qualifications:

  1. PMP Certification.
  2. Experience building relationships with government officials and C-level stakeholders by developing a strong understanding of the customer business and driving deep, data-driven insights.
  3. Experience working with new and emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud and broader enterprise technology transformation space.
  4. Experience leading the full end-to-end sales cycle for complex professional services engagements.
  5. Experience delivering digital transformation projects to large, complex organizations.

Role overview:

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish, working with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate with cross-functional partners. You'll explain analyses and recommendations to executives and discuss technical tradeoffs with engineers.

In the Public Sector Services, you'll transform how a key public sector customer leverages Google Cloud solutions in New York, orchestrating large-scale, multi-year technical transformation engagements to drive value and improve constituent experience.

This senior role involves providing strategic oversight, leading initiatives, collaborating with technical and program teams, and offering thought leadership and technical direction. You'll work extensively with Google executives, sales teams, and key technical leaders, overseeing programs involving many team members to ensure successful deployment of GCP solutions.

Additional requirements:

Must be a US Citizen to meet customer and compliance requirements, including potential access to classified information.

Google Public Sector focuses on helping government and educational institutions accelerate digital transformation, with a dedicated team to meet complex needs.

The US base salary range for this position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits, determined by role, level, location, skills, experience, and education. Salary details are discussed during hiring. Benefits information is available here.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Lead strategy, planning, and delivery of large, multi-year technical transformation engagements for Google's public sector customer in New York.
  2. Serve as a strategic partner to the Go-to-Market team, leading the full sales cycle for complex professional services engagements in New York, identifying customer challenges and positioning Google Cloud solutions.
  3. Provide thought leadership, consulting, and technical direction for customer engagements and program portfolio, collaborating with cross-functional teams to oversee planning, evaluation, and deployment of solutions, and leading technical decision-making.
