Job summary

Sanmina is seeking a Colorado Springs-based Technical Project Manager to coordinate with Viking Enterprise Solutions customers and engineering teams on Data Storage and Storage Server designs.

The role requires strong technical and customer management, with responsibilities spanning product development, supply continuity, and cross-functional leadership to ensure milestones are met.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or MS with 8+ years of relevant experience
  • 12+ years in server industry (or 8+ years with MS)
  • Strong project management skills in scheduling and milestone tracking
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Knowledge of x86 server architectures

Responsibilities

  • Translate product specs into program deliverables with Marketing and Architecture
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver products on schedule while meeting targets
  • Define requirements, plan, develop, and ensure continuity of supply
  • Manage feature enhancements, quality, and supply continuity
  • Communicate organizational information, strategies, and capabilities to sales
  • Oversee engineering solutions including PCB, mechanical, power, firmware, test, and vendor management
  • Ensure manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability of designs
  • Build relationships with customers and provide insight and recommendations
  • Lead weekly core team meetings to track progress and milestones
  • Identify program risks, define mitigation, and drive hardware/software solutions
  • Maintain project documentation and disseminate information to stakeholders
  • Publish KPIs as required by program management

Job Purpose

In this key role, the Colorado Springs based Technical Project Manager will interface daily with Viking Enterprise Solutions (VES) customer base and product engineering groups in support of cutting edge Data Storage and Storage Server product designs. The ideal candidate will work cross functionally throughout the Viking Enterprise Solutions organization and is expected to support a wide variety of products and customers. Successful candidates must demonstrate strong technical skills combined with a solid understanding of Enterprise Storage core business practices.

This position requires a high degree of externally focused Customer Management skills combining collaborative, small team interaction with VES Engineering and Operations groups.

Nature Of Duties/Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Marketing and Architecture teams to translate product specifications into program deliverables
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and introduce products on schedule while meeting sales volume targets and financial objectives
  • Lead requirement definition, planning, development and continuity of supply
  • Manage feature enhancements, quality and continuity of supply
  • Interact with sales organizations to communicate organizational information, strategies, and capabilities
  • Manage the execution of engineering solutions, including: Printed Circuit boards, Mechanical, Power, OS, FW, BIOS, Solution SW, Test, Diagnostics and vendor management.
  • Ensure the manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability of designs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers and providing insight and recommendation to support.
  • Lead weekly program core team meetings with cross-functional teams to communicate updates, track progress, and ensure the program is on track to meet upcoming milestones.
  • Identify and communicate program risks to stakeholders, define risk mitigation strategies, and facilitate appropriate hardware and software engineering solutions.
  • Maintain documentation and disseminate project information to stakeholders, customers, and partners.
  • Publish appropriate metrics such as KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), as required by the program or the Office of Technical Program management
Education And Experience
  • BS in electrical Engineering and 12+years of relevant experience in server or related industry (alternatively a MS and 8+ years)
  • Good understanding of x86 server system architecture
  • Understanding of system-level server platforms, software, and component interactions
  • Excellent understanding of business goals and customer use cases.
  • Strong project management skills in scheduling and milestone tracking.
  • Ability to view situations objectively from different perspectives.
  • Ability to frame situations and make/drive decisions
  • Ability to resolve complex problems, drive results, innovate, and lead strategically
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on time.

Salary Range (annual): $145,000 - $175,000

Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
