Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Technical Project Manager for API Security to oversee the full software development lifecycle of our API Security portfolio.

You will drive sprint planning with Engineering, Research, and Product teams and coordinate across Sales, Services, and Support for smooth delivery. The Technical Project Manager oversees the full software development lifecycle for API Security product portfolio. This role requires technical expertise, strong project execution, and close cross-functional collaboration.

As a Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Managing complex projects with meticulous attention to detail, rigorous prioritization, and proactive scheduling.
• Driving Sprint planning and execution in close collaboration with Engineering, Research and Product teams.
• Liaising across Sales, Sales Engineering, Services and Support to facilitate effective communication and efficient cross-functional collaboration.
• Identifying and resolving project conflicts and roadblocks, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.
• Developing detailed project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and risk management.
• Creating and optimizing processes and tracking core performance metrics to sustain operational excellence.

• Have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Have 5+ years managing technical software projects within Agile or Scrum frameworks.
• Have proven experience optimizing product and engineering delivery processes within B2B technology organizations.
• Have proficiency with Jira, Confluence and generative AI tools such as Claude and Gemini.
• Have analytical skills, big-picture thinking, a strong sense of urgency and a proactive approach.
• Have excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly to diverse, non-technical audiences.
