Job description

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individualhouseholds to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.

Export Control : This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. Citizen in order to comply with U.S. government-imposed requirements related to the nature of the work and/or where it will be performed.

Leo Production Engineering Platforms (LPEP) is seeking an exceptional Senior Technical Program Manager (Sr. TPM) to drive complex technical initiatives across Identity and Access Management (IAM), Device Identity, and DataHive — the platforms that govern access to Leo's most sensitive data, establish trusted identity for internal business and satellite manufacturing operations, and serve as the org's governed single source of truth for manufacturing data. The Sr. TPM will engage with software, hardware, manufacturing, operations, networking, supply chain, launch, compliance, and security teams — collaborating, ideating, developing, and driving adoption of software solutions. This is a highly technical role requiring experience with integrated hardware and software development, data platforms, and regulated access control, along with an appreciation for complex applications. The Sr. TPM will drive thoughtful discussions to align business and technical stakeholder needs, partnering closely with internal and third-party technical teams to understand and address their pain points, ensuring crisp decision-making and effective solutions.

This is an on-site role that requires employees to work from the company's office 5 days per week. Remote work is not an option for this position.

Key job responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineering, hardware engineering, product management, and business development to define and execute technical strategies across IAM, Device Identity, and DataHive.
  • Serve as a key liaison between platform customers — access owners, data consumers, and manufacturing teams — and the software development teams, gathering requirements, identifying opportunities, and championing solutions that address customer pain points while ensuring stakeholder alignment.
  • Champion the adoption of governed identity, access control, and trusted data across Leo Manufacturing — driving comprehensive use of IAM for regulated access, User/Device/AI Identity, and DataHive as the org's single source of truth for manufacturing data.
  • Establish and maintain robust program management processes to track goals, milestones, and KPIs, ensuring alignment with Amazon Leo's strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with Leadership to author Monthly Business Review (MBR), and other rhythm of business updates.
A day in the life

This role will be highly collaborative, requiring partnerships with cross-functional leaders to drive positive results. In this role, you will own the implementation and adoption of the platforms that govern identity, access, and trusted data across satellite manufacturing — IAM, Device Identity, and DataHive. You will collaborate with teams from manufacturing engineering, product engineering, and security engineering to identify requirements and design these platform solutions. You will partner with internal teams and contract manufacturers to standardize how identity is established, access is controlled, and manufacturing data is shared.

About the team

The Leo Production Engineering Platforms (LPEP) team builds the platforms that govern identity, access, trusted data, and manufacturing execution across Amazon Leo satellite manufacturing. Working closely with hardware, software, manufacturing, and security engineering teams, LPEP delivers IAM for regulatory-compliant access control over Leo's most sensitive data, Device Identity for establishing trusted identity for internal operations, DataHive as the org's governed single source of truth for manufacturing data sets, and the Leo Manufacturing Platform (LMP) for driving, managing, and tracking satellite manufacturing operations. The team's mission is to enable secure, governed, and data-driven satellite manufacturing by standardizing how access is controlled, device identity is established, manufacturing data is shared, and production operations are executed — across internal facilities and global contract manufacturing sites.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
