DeepMind in Mountain View, CA, is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager for AGI Safety and Alignment to lead complex, multi-disciplinary programs from requirements through delivery. You will partner with research and engineering teams to translate safety theories into practical controls, manage schedules and risks, and communicate trade-offs to executives.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between alignment research and production partnering with research teams to translate cutting-edge safety theories into practical control mechanisms. You will drive end-to-end delivery across the model lifecycle, scaling training and evaluation infrastructure while implementing robust monitoring frameworks to detect, measure, and mitigate critical risks in advanced systems

• Dive into technical details, evaluating safety losses and metrics to confirm they accurately measure the target problems, and develop solutions where they fall short.
• Manage the full portfolio. Oversee a program spanning near-term model development through long-term research in AGI Safety, Alignment, and Control.
• Drive organizational efficiency. Streamline execution, implement tooling improvements, and proactively resolve blockers for research and engineering teams while partnering with technical leads on strategies that support team growth and culture.
• Coordinate across Gemini. Align groups (e.g., release, model behavior, training) on shared plans and timelines, building consensus and influencing outcomes without direct authority.
• Communicate upward. Manage high-visibility executive reviews, giving leadership clear, consistent visibility into program status and risk.
