Google DeepMind is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager for AGI Safety in Mountain View. You will lead multi-disciplinary engineering programs, plan requirements with internal customers, and drive the full project lifecycle from development through production.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers. Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs. The Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) Safety and Alignment Team is the main group at DeepMind working directly on technical approaches to existential risk from AI systems. As a Senior Technical Program Manager for AGI Safety on the Safety and Behavior Technical Program Manager (TPgM) Team, you will lead the operational design and technical execution safeguarding Gemini against extreme and frontier risks. In this role, you will bridge the gap between alignment research and production partnering with research teams to translate cutting-edge safety theories into practical control mechanisms. You will drive end-to-end delivery across the model lifecycle, scaling training and evaluation infrastructure while implementing robust monitoring frameworks to detect, measure, and mitigate critical risks in advanced systems. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $256000 - $278000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
