The Security Issue and Reviews Management team builds solutions that keep Amazon systems and data secure on behalf of Amazon customer. Our customers range from security engineers who need a comprehensive understanding of Amazon systems and their security state, to service teams who need solutions that make it easy to build and operate secure systems. We use the latest technology, including AWS, to solve security problems at Amazon scale. We employ automation and machine learning to reduce, or eliminate, manual effort to help our internal customers raise the security bar. We have bold goals to stay ahead of the curve on security and delight our customers with intuitive and effective products.

What you will do

You will work closely with your customers, partner teams, and core product engineering teams to ensure the needs of your customers are clearly understood and effectively addressed. You will collaborate with the senior leadership team to drive key engineering and business decisions that achieve the right outcomes. Since our systems are foundational to the Amazon ecosystem, you will also have the opportunity to learn about various businesses across Amazon.

What we are looking for

Successful candidates for this position must have experience working with customers to understand their needs, decompose those needs into executable roadmaps, and drive execution to deliver the needed outcomes. They must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven, able to dive deep into the technical designs, and ensure delivery in a fast-paced environment. You will be able to think big to develop a plan and invent mechanisms that scale to meet the broad and diverse needs of teams across Amazon. You will have a strong customer obsession, working to deeply understand the needs of your customers and relentlessly looking to improve their experience and make them more productive.

Key job responsibilities
  • Build and contribute to roadmap: Identify customer needs, technology/industry trends, challenges, use cases, trends, and related services to help build a roadmap of studies to evaluate and improve customer experience.
  • Manage ambiguity: Independently take steps necessary to understand complex technologies and customer use cases across a variety of customer personas and product categories to produce meaningful insights that drive improved customer experience.
  • Lead large and complex studies: Design and build proof of concept experiments based on common customer use cases to evaluate the end-to-end customer experience. Own the full study lifecycle, including scoping, design, data collection and analysis, and presenting a comprehensive written narrative of insights and recommendations to senior leadership to drive improvements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders: Work with internal technical stakeholders (e.g., technical product managers, software developers, solution architects, business intelligence teams) to execute studies and work cross-functionally with peers/colleagues globally to support training, best practices, and shared opportunities.
  • Focus on customers: Stay connected to customer trends, needs, and pain points in the cloud space. Collaborate with customer researchers to deliver customer insights that identify and drive customer experience improvements.
A day in the life

You will own and contribute to programs that evaluate the customer experiences supported by security issue management services, as well as technology/industry trends and the voice of the customer. You will join an expanding team, leverage your skills, and apply a variety of methodologies to drive these programs. You will collaborate with product teams and senior leaders to provide insights and drive improvements that help us achieve our vision to be Earth's Most Customer-Centric Company.
