Job description

Senior Technical Program Manager (EE/FW)

Meet has partnered with an exciting STEALTH start-up in the Brain Computer Interface (BCI) space based in the San Francisco Bay area. The company is developing cutting-edge medical devices and novel technology for the treatment of unmet neurological disorders.

We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead complex software programs spanning embedded systems, application software, cloud platforms, and hardware/software integration. This is a highly technical, execution-focused role for someone who can work closely with engineering teams, understand technical trade-offs, manage dependencies, and drive programs from requirements through verification and release. You will partner with software and engineering leaders to align roadmaps, priorities, resources, and milestones while proactively identifying risks and removing blockers. Working cross-functionally with engineering, Quality, Regulatory, and external partners, you will help ensure software development is delivered efficiently and meets the requirements of a regulated medical-device environment. The ideal candidate combines strong technical credibility with exceptional program leadership, communication, and execution skills.

Job Duties
  • Own end-to-end software program delivery, from requirements and planning through development, integration, verification, and release.
  • Partner with engineering and software leaders to define roadmaps, milestones, priorities, resources, and dependencies across multiple technical disciplines.
  • Drive Agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog management, standups, retrospectives, and release planning, using tools such as Jira.
  • Coordinate embedded firmware, application software, cloud/data systems, and hardware/software integration, proactively identifying technical risks and removing engineering blockers.
  • Communicate program status, risks, and key decisions to leadership; coordinate external vendors and engineering partners; and collaborate with Quality and Regulatory teams on documentation, requirements traceability, verification, and release readiness.
Job Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in technical program management, software program management, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, with a proven ability to drive engineering teams through complex development, integration, and release activities.
  • Technical experience in one or more areas, including embedded systems, firmware, application software, cloud platforms, or hardware/software integration, with the ability to engage engineers on technical issues and trade-offs.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, cross-functional programs, with strong execution, risk management, organizational, stakeholder management, and communication skills; experience with Jira and Agile methodologies is required.
  • Experience in medical devices, regulated products, or other safety-critical environments is highly valued. Familiarity with IEC 62304, ISO 13485, medical-device design controls, Class II/III devices, external engineering partners, or startup environments is an advantage.
