About the Role
As a Sr Product Manager, Data and AI, you will own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our data-centric and AI-powered product portfolio. You'll partner closely with stakeholders across engineering, data science, UX, digital, and business teams to translate customer and internal needs into clear product requirements-balancing innovation in analytics and generative AI with a deep sense of customer empathy.

How You'll Make an Impact

Data & AI Product Strategy
Define and evolve the multi-quarter roadmap for data platforms, analytics dashboards, and AI services-ensuring alignment to both business KPIs and user needs.

Customer Empathy & Thought Partnership
Lead discovery sessions, customer interviews, and workshops with internal and external users to surface pain points, desired outcomes, and friction in current workflows. Act as a trusted advisor to partners in tech, digital, and other lines of business.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as the product voice in agile squads alongside engineers, data scientists, cloud architects, UX designers, and compliance teams-facilitating clear communication, priority alignment, and shared accountability.

Delivery & Performance Oversight
Translate requirements into well-scoped user stories and acceptance criteria; guide sprint planning and agile ceremonies; identify and remove blockers to keep teams focused on high-value work.

Performance Measurement & Iteration
Establish and track KPIs such as adoption, engagement, model accuracy, and ROI; use data-informed insights to prioritize enhancements and course-correct rapidly.

Go-to-Market & Adoption
Collaborate with marketing, sales, enablement, and support to craft launch plans, training materials, and internal documentation-driving awareness and adoption of new data and AI capabilities.

Market & Technology Awareness
Stay abreast of emerging trends in data warehouses, lakehouses, BI/visualization tools, machine learning operations, and generative AI-surfacing opportunities to innovate and differentiate our platform.

Experience You'll Bring

Technical & Analytical Fluency

7+ years in product management or related roles, with a focus on data platforms, analytics solutions, or AI/ML products.

Strong understanding of data warehouses, lakehouse architectures, ETL/ELT pipelines, BI tools, and core AI/ML concepts.

Proven track record of driving products from discovery through launch and iteration in agile environments.

Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders and translate complex technical concepts into clear business narratives.

Demonstrated customer empathy-able to champion user needs and craft intuitive experiences.

Collaboration & Strategic Thinking

Experience working as a thought partner to engineering, data science, digital, and business leaders.

Ability to balance long-term vision with short-term delivery demands, prioritizing ruthlessly to maximize impact.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, or generative AI integration.

Knowledge of data mesh, federated data access, or multi-tenant platform design.

Background in financial services, payments, or other regulated industries.Experience with digital transformation initiatives or consultancy environments.

Advanced degree (MBA, MS in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field).

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
