Senior Technical Product Manager - Core Database

Overview
ClickHouse is seeking a Technical Product Manager with strong experience in SQL database capabilities to drive core database and cloud-native extensions. This is a remote position within the United States, focused on extending and deepening core ClickHouse capabilities and developing cloud-native features for developers and data analysts across multiple use cases and market segments.
What you will be doing
- Understand real-time analytics and cloud database markets, competition, and technology trends in depth
- Engage with the ClickHouse open-source user community and ClickHouse Cloud customers to understand current and aspirational use cases
- Distill and prioritize feature requests and issues into clear priorities for net-new capabilities and improvements
- Work with engineering teams to scope and refine approaches to solving customer problems in the core database and ClickHouse Cloud offerings
- Set clear measurable goals around customer success and use data-driven approaches to ensure new capabilities meet customer needs
- Stay up-to-date on market state and competitive landscape to identify needed features aligned with the roadmap and community/customer requests
- Collaborate with partners to grow ClickHouse awareness and visibility
What you bring along
- Knowledgeable and passionate about data engineering markets (data warehousing, data analytics, data science, business intelligence, observability)
- Strong vision for market direction and leadership in this space
- Experience with ClickHouse or related OLAP technology at a technical level, including expert SQL skills
- Experience with open-source projects, ideally as a product manager
- Desire to build enterprise capabilities that are powerful yet easy to use
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable with public speaking at meetups, conferences, webinars
- Ability to influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and evolving business needs
- Ability and desire to work with customers or community members, providing technical guidance and support during Proof of Concept
Bonus Points for
- Previous contributions to open-source projects
- Engineering experience in distributed/cloud systems (ideally C++)
- Experience working remotely in a global, distributed organization
Compensation
The typical starting salary for this role in the US is $126,650 - $193,800 USD. The typical starting salary for this role in US Premium Markets is $149,000 - $228,000 USD.
For roles based in the United States, the typical starting salary range is listed above. In certain locations (e.g., Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco Bay Area, CA; Seattle, WA; New York City Metro) a premium market range may apply. Salaries reflect minimum to maximum pay at posting time; actual compensation may be higher or lower and ranges may adjust.
Placement within the range depends on factors such as education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs.
