Job summary

Viasat is seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager for Data & AI Platform to lead the unified data & AI cloud backbone. You will own the roadmap for core platform infrastructure and balance needs of engineers and business users in a hybrid work model across Carlsbad, San Jose, or Denver.

You will drive governance, data sovereignty, and scalable interfaces while partnering with engineering to ensure safety, trust, and wide adoption across the organization.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Product Management experience owning data & AI platforms, infrastructure, or other engineering-enablement platforms.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Platform mindset with measurable impact on development velocity and platform adoption.
• Deep knowledge of modern data architecture (GCP emphasis) and agentic concepts.
• Experience with orchestration layers and configurable, user-friendly controls.
• Proven experience building cloud platforms within highly regulated environments (e.g., FedRAMP, SOC2, HIPAA, or DoD).
• Outcome ownership via formal OKRs with measurable results.
• Strong ability to communicate strategy and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Unify Data & AI Infrastructure: own the roadmap for a unified context layer and data platforms.
• Expand the Governed Data Lake: ingest new sources into a governed cloud data lake for AI/analytics.
• Navigate High-Compliance Environments: design platforms with governance, data sovereignty, and auditability.
• Partner on the Semantic Layer: collaborate with engineering and business teams to evolve the semantic layer and data model.
• Deliver Low-Friction Developer Portals: own internal portals, CLI tools, SDKs, and templates for agents.
• Enforce Guardrails: establish automated data-privacy boundaries to prevent breaches.
• Drive Telemetry & Cost Transparency: define dashboards for token spend, agent utilization, ROI across departments.
