Senior Technical Operations Specialist (North Houston Region)

Join to apply for the Senior Technical Operations Specialist (North Houston Region) role at Responsive Education Solutions.

This remote position in the North Houston Region involves performing technical work to install and maintain technology equipment, work on projects, and manage network and software applications throughout the district. Responsibilities include responding to work order requests by diagnosing and repairing network and technology hardware, distributing new equipment, and supporting infrastructure for new and existing sites. The Senior Technical Operations Specialist will assist the Operational Services team with their expertise and experience in technical support.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • A High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA, Cisco, or Microsoft are preferred.
  • Google IT Support Professional certification is preferred.

Experience:

  • At least 5+ years of progressively responsible IT support experience in a technical support environment.
  • Experience in networking, infrastructure cabling, help desk, or support services is preferred.

Skills:

  • Ability to assist with project completion, issues, and tasks.
  • Knowledge of computer setup, hardware, and software applications.
  • Skill in installing, maintaining, and repairing computers, peripherals, and network infrastructure.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
Key Responsibilities
  • Install and upgrade computers and peripherals district-wide.
  • Install network cabling and peripherals.
  • Relocate hardware and equipment as required.
  • Install and configure software.
  • Maintain data communication circuits and equipment.
Equipment Repair and Maintenance
  • Diagnose and repair printers, terminals, and PCs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and keep records.
Technical Support
  • Resolve technology issues using logical and creative solutions.
  • Use help desk software to process requests and escalate issues.
  • Assist users in person, via phone, or remotely; provide training as needed.
  • Collaborate with district IT personnel and vendors.
Additional Duties
  • Foster a team environment focused on customer service.
  • Adapt to changes in techniques and procedures.
  • Stay updated on emerging technology trends and certifications.
  • Perform special projects and after-hours support.
  • Travel to campus sites for onsite support.
Physical and Environmental Demands

Requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., manual dexterity, visual acuity, and on-call support. Valid driver’s license and good driving record are required.
