Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc is seeking an experienced Technical Staff Engineer to provide technical leadership for the High Power Solutions (HPS) unit. You will influence product direction, drive design wins, and engage with customers worldwide on SiC, IGBTs, and power conversion systems.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with field applications, and help scale the HPS organization through cross-functional leadership and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in Applications Engineering, Field Applications Engineering, Power Electronics Design, System Architecture, or related technical disciplines.
• Strong experience with high-voltage and high-power semiconductor technologies (SiC, IGBTs, Power Modules).
• Expertise in system architecture, power topologies, and component integration.
• Proficiency with PCB design tools and circuit-/system-level simulation tools.
• Experience presenting technical information to customers, field teams, and executives.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Drive strategic customer engagements and design wins with application expertise and system-level guidance.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for complex customer challenges and advise on architectures and topologies.
• Create technical content (presentations, notes, white papers) for customers and internal teams.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering excellence across the organization.
• Coordinate cross-functional engagement plans to align product, sales, and engineering.
• Lead initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness and customer success.
