Guidehouse is seeking a Senior Technical Editor to oversee editorial processes for federal client research communications and publications. You will lead the publication lifecycle, mentor editors, and ensure accuracy, style, and accessibility across reports, newsletters, and websites.

The role requires extensive editing experience, supervisory skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced federal environment, with up to 10% travel and a DoD/public trust clearance.

Qualifications

• Requires master’s degree in English, Journalism or a technical field and 10+ years in editing/publishing.
• Must obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD public trust clearance.
• Experience supervising editorial staff and managing complex publications.

Responsibilities

• Lead editorial review and publication management for technical reports and publications.
• Oversee editorial process to ensure accuracy, style, accessibility, and readiness.
• Supervise editors, writers, and support staff, guiding workflows and deadlines.
• Perform substantive editing, copyediting, proofreading, and fact-checking.
• Coordinate reviews with researchers, engineers, legal, and public affairs teams.
• Ensure compliance with GPO/Chicago styles and 508 accessibility standards.

The Senior Technical Editor will oversee the editorial process for complex technical publications and communications products, ensuring technical accuracy, stylistic consistency, accessibility compliance, and publication readiness across a broad portfolio of research, engineering, and transportation-related materials. The role serves as an editorial and publications lead, directing editorial staff, managing document workflows, and supporting the full lifecycle of publications from concept development through final print and digital publication.
