Job Description

This Opportunity

WSP USA is actively seeking a Senior Technical Director, Transportation Engineering with strong experience in transportation infrastructure and operations projects for our Western Washington location. This role provides guidance to PMs and managers, addressing current and future challenges, ensuring project delivery meets federal, state, regional, and local regulations. The incumbent will assist project teams in scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk management.

This position can be based out of WSP's Tacoma-WA, Seattle-WA, or Vancouver-WA office.

Your Impact
  • Provide strategic leadership for project/program delivery from planning through operation.
  • Support project delivery, technical expertise, business development, and operations within the Washington transportation group, and as needed, regionally or nationally.
  • Stay informed on federal, state, and local policy changes, especially emergent ones.
  • Maintain a high level of client service.
  • Collaborate with leadership to attract and retain top talent, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to WSP’s policies.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in civil engineering, infrastructure design, and operations
  • Professional Engineer registration in Washington
  • Proficiency in civil engineering principles, practices, and permitting processes
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to policies
  • Occasional travel may be required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering
  • PMP and/or DBIA certification
  • Experience with highway, transit, and major structures design and delivery
  • Experience managing document reviews and certifications in a program environment

Compensation

Expected salary range: $157,000 - $300,410, based on experience and location. WSP reserves the right to adjust compensation.
