Job summary

Gensler is seeking a Technical Designer focused on commercial interior environments in San Diego. You will support design concept execution, develop schematic through construction documentation, resolve design issues, and ensure code compliance on projects.

Collaboration with the team is essential to meet deadlines and client expectations. You will coordinate with consultants, produce detailed drawings, and contribute to design development and construction administration, leveraging Revit,

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Masters Degree in Interior Architecture or Interior Design, preferably with experience designing corporate interiors projects.
• 7-10 years of professional experience with focus on Interior Architecture or Interior Design.
• NCIDQ preferred but not required.
• Experience resolving technical and design issues.
• Proficiency with Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on all phases of a Corporate Workplace oriented interiors projects, including programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, and design development, construction documentation and construction administration
• Ability to ideate quickly through utilizing computational design tools
• Direct the technical coordination and documentation for construction of the project
• Collaborate with the team during the design, planning and development phases with building technology and code compliance expertise
• Produce drawings and details, which meet various and specific program requirements while also representing an overall design concept
• Conduct on-site observations and document site reviews
• Interface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the project
• Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination
• Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs
