Job summary

Pattison ID is seeking a skilled Technical Designer to develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings for signage projects. You will create BOMs, collaborate across teams, and ensure designs meet codes and manufacturing constraints.

With a background in Architecture, Industrial Design, or Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years in a similar role, you’ll contribute to efficient, cost-conscious production and stay current with evolving software and fabrication techniques.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years as a Technical Designer or similar in sign/mabrication industries.
• Strong understanding of metals, plastics, LEDs, and construction methods for sign production.

Responsibilities

• Develop 2D and 3D drawings, shop drawings, and fabrication documents using AutoCAD or SOLIDWORKS based on design concepts.
• Create BOMs and cutting lists for production.
• Collaborate with sales, design, engineering, and production to ensure cost-effective designs.
• Interpret plans and client specs to develop appropriate sign solutions.
• Ensure designs comply with building codes, ADA, and industry standards.
