Job summary

The Crowd is seeking a Senior Technical Designer to bridge creativity with technical delivery in our experiential design studio in New York. This role leads technical delivery from design development through fabrication and installation, shaping processes and documentation standards across projects for world‑class brands.

You’ll develop detailed technical solutions, produce drawing packages, and coordinate with architects, consultants and fabricators while supporting site visits and production

Job description

Our client, a forward-thinking experiential design studio, is looking for a skilled and imaginative team player to join them as a Senior Technical Designer.

The studio is seeking a technically strong designer who can bridge the gap between creative concept and technical delivery, taking ambitious ideas and developing them into robust, buildable and production-ready solutions. You’ll play a key role in taking projects from design development through to fabrication and installation, acting as the technical lead throughout project delivery while also having the opportunity to shape and improve technical processes and documentation standards within the wider business.

Working closely with creative colleagues in the US and UK, clients, consultants and fabricators, you’ll develop detailed technical solutions, produce drawing packages and ensure creative concepts can be successfully realized on site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and refine Rhino models from concept through to technical delivery
• Translate creative concepts into clear, accurate and buildable drawing packages
• Produce technical drawings, details and documentation for fabrication and installation
• Coordinate technical information with internal teams, clients, consultants and fabricators
• Carry out site surveys, attend site visits and support installations as required
• Identify technical challenges and develop practical solutions throughout the project
• Manage drawing registers, revisions and document control across multiple projects
• Support supplier and fabricator coordination, including samples, approvals and technical reviews
• Assist with production, procurement and quality control where required
• Help improve technical processes, documentation standards and ways of working across the studio

Key Skills/Requirements:

• Strong background in 3D design with advanced Rhino modelling and excellent CAD skills
• Experience within commercial interiors, environmental graphics, architecture, exhibitions or experiential design
• Experience producing detailed technical and production information
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and develop creative concepts into buildable solutions
• Strong understanding of fabrication methods, materials and production processes
• Experience using Revit and BIM workflows
• Previous experience coordinating with architects, consultants, fabricators and suppliers
• Excellent document control and revision management skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Experience within commercial interiors, architecture, environmental graphics, exhibitions or experiential design
• A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the confidence to work independently and contribute to the development of studio processes
